Charles Trodglen, 79, of Henderson, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born November 30, 1942 to the late Bernard and Emma Trodglen. After graduating from Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School, he joined the Army. After the Army, he joined the Henderson City Fire Department, working his way up to Fire Chief – a position he held for 17 years. He was inducted as a member of the KFA Hall of Fame in 2007. After retiring from the fire department, he worked at Methodist Hospital, the YMCA, and Henderson Manor. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and of the Masonic Lodge #9. He loved to watch UK basketball and NASCAR races, and he deeply loved his dachshunds, Buddy and Hercules. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Joyice; daughter, Linda; stepson, Ronnie Howard; brother, Bobby Trodglen; and sisters, Barbara Fairchild, Brenda Doss, Paula Stallings, and Sue Stone. Charles is survived by his daughters, Tina and Roxie; granddaughters, Tori, Kelsey, Katelyn, and Grace; sisters, Bernadine Cooper (Ronnie), Lou Williams, Ginger Trodglen; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, March 28 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Father Larry McBride officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by American Legion Post #40 Burial Detail and Honor Guard. A last alarm bell service will be conducted by the Henderson City Fire Department. Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday, March 27 from 2-6 p.m. and Monday, March 28 from 9 a.m. until service time. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
