Charles Winstead Stone

Charles W. Stone, 79, of Henderson passed away Thursday July 25, 2013 at Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born in Webster County, Kentucky to Forrest Porter and Stella Lee (Yates) Stone on September 16, 1933. Charles was a retired diesel mechanic. He attended First Baptist Church and was a member of Masonic Lodge #799 in Corydon, Kentucky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Doris (Brown) Stone, 2 brothers: Forrest Stone Jr. and Wayne Leo Stone and 2 sisters: Mildred Mabry and Georgia Hagan. He is survived by 3 children: Renee Waltrip of Mooresville, North Carolina Kimberly Greenwell of Henderson Rusty Stone of Henderson 3 Sisters: Sue Thomas Lois “Jeanie” Pike Linda Fox all of Henderson 1 Grandson: Tyler Lee-Bob Waltrip and wife Karalee of Concord, North Carolina 1 Great-grandson: Connor Lee Waltrip of Concord, North Carolina Special Friend: Brenda Duncan Nieces and Nephews Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday July 27, 2013 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Rev. Mary Wrye will officiate with eulogy given by Tyler Lee-Bob Waltrip. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree. Visitation will be Friday 4:00-8:00 PM and Saturday 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 6:00 PM Friday Evening at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice. Pallbearers will be Bev Key, Lanny McKee, J Clary, Donnie Greenwell, William Clayton and Ben Pike.
