"Chop" Jimmy Wayne Cox

“Chop” Jimmy Wayne Cox, 54, of Robards passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Deaconess Hospital Henderson.


He was born in Henderson on September 13, 1968 to Larry Wayne and Alice Faye (Embry) Cox.


Chop loved drag racing, hanging out at his pool hall in Hebbardsville with family and friends and hopping on the Harley with his wife, Tonya, for a spur of the moment bike ride. He loved spending time with his dog Harley Bug. Chop was loved by everyone, never met a stranger and was always 1st in line to help someone in need.


He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Wayne Cox.


Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Tonya Cox; mother, Alice Cox of Hebbardsville; mother-in-law, Mary Lutz; one son, Kyle Wayne Cox of Robards; half sister, Tammy Renee Craig (Keith) of Henderson; half brother, Joshua Lee Cox of Evansville; two sister-in-laws, Missy Ellis (Arthur) and Tina Workins (Mike); brother-in-law, David Lutz (Melissa); several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.


Visitation will be 1-6PM Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. The family is requesting for visitors to keep it casual with jeans and Chop’s Shop or Harley T-shirts.


Funeral services will be private for immediate family only.


In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to New Hope Animal Rescue.
