Clarence “Whitey” Uzzle, 84, of Calvert City, passed away Monday December 31, 2018 at his home. He was born in Mooreman Kentucky to the late Charlie and Beulah (Jones) Uzzle. Clarence was a longtime member, ordained deacon and song leader at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He had retired after 33 years at BF Goodrich as a pipefitter. He had also worked for 17 years at Long Concrete in Benton as a driver and later on becoming foreman. Clarence was also the lead singer in the Victory Singers and Canaanland Quartet. In Addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters Mary Newton and Ora Oost; his brother Earnest Uzzle; 2 grandsons Jeremy Tolbert and Mark Tolbert; 1 great grandson Eric Tolbert. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Cora (York) Uzzle; his children Danny Uzzle and his wife Connie, Gail Stafford and her husband Ronald, Vicky Harper and her husband Jeff and Bonnie Gibson and her husband Jim; 1 brother Chester Uzzle and his wife Shirley; 6 grand children Matthew Tolbert, Robin Bedwell, Melanie Pratt, Chad Harper, Corey Inglish, Kayla Joseph; 3 step grandchildren Lisa Mitchuson, Sheila Chandler and Cari Ehrlich and 32 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday January 3, 2019 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Brother George Culp will be officiating. Burial will be in the Hamlet Cemetery.Visitation will be 4: 00- 8:00 PM Wednesday January 2, 2019 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and on Thursday 10 AM until service time. Arrangements are being handled at Tomblinson Funeral Home by his grandson Matthew Tolbert. Pallbearers will be Corey Inglish, Chad Harper, Isaac Tolbert, Ethan Tolbert, Justin Tolbert, Brian Bedwell and Matthew Tolbert. Honorary Pallbearers will be Noah Joseph and Landon Bedwell.
