Clemma K. Snider

Clemma K. Snider, 67, of Lexington, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022, in Henderson, KY under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 14, 1955, to the late Stanley and Anna (Carroll) Alcorn. Clemma attended Ohio State University School of Nursing and received her BSN in 1980. She later attended the University of Kentucky College of Nursing receiving her MSN in 1992 and attended University of Kentucky Graduate school earning 30 post masters’ hours. In 2021, she earned her CMSRN designation. Clemma was a Registered Nurse in both Ohio and Kentucky from 1980 – 2022. She served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Associate Degree of Nursing at Eastern Kentucky University from 1993 until her tenured retirement in 2015. In addition, she held many Academic Service roles at the University as well as the Department of Associate Degree Nursing and College of Health Science. During her summer months, she worked in various Nursing capacities at UK Chandler Medical Center and Shriners Hospital for Children. In 2015, Clemma joined UK Healthcare as Patient Education Specialist where she ended an amazing 42-year professional career amongst many friends she considered family. Clemma was a faithful member of Southland Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky, and enjoyed being involved in church activities. She was an animal lover, especially of poodles, and enjoyed gardening, interior design, cooking, and music. Survivors include her devoted and loving husband of 14 years, Ralph Snider; three sisters Carolyn Schmidt, Anna Brisker (Gerald), Deborah Myers (Michael); one brother Tony Sproles (Paula), and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews who loved her. Services will be 2:00 PM Monday August 8, 2022 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel with Pastor Joe Cox officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
