Connie Sue (Nunley) Mays, 83, of Henderson, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Lucy Smith King Care Center.
She was born in Henderson on September 27, 1941 to Henry Collins and Dorothy Millicent (Williams) Nunley.
Connie Sue worked many years in assembly and was a member of Cash Creek Baptist Church. She had a heart full of generosity, always eager to help others out of pure love. Her passions included crocheting, quilting, dancing, and playing cards, and she had a special fondness for Blake Shelton. Above all, she embraced life with kindness and warmth, touching the hearts of everyone she met.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Mays and sisters, Peggy Bulman and Beverly Lewis.
Survivors include her son, David (Terri) Mays of Henderson; grandchildren, Brandon Mays and Natalie (Collin) Royster; great-grandchildren, Emory and Evie Royster; and siblings, Patricia (Hugh) Hazelwood, Charles (Karen) Nunley, and Linda (Don) Lewis, all of Henderson.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Lester McCatton officiating.
Burial will follow at Cash Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday, April 9 from 3-8 p.m. and on Thursday, April 10 from 10 a.m. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Brad Inge, Ron Inge, James Roll, Mike Hazelwood, Joe Spencer, and Marvin Mays.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
