Curtis Franklin Plunkette

Curtis Franklin Plunkette age 77 of Earlington, KY passed away at 11:30 A.M. Sunday 06-05-11 on old Hopkinsville Road near Nortonville, KY. He was born February 25, 1934 in Earlington, KY to Frank and Elizabeth Smith Plunkette. He was a coal miner and last worked for the South Hopkins Coal Company. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post #2 in Earlington, KY and he was a Kentucky Colonel. He liked hunting and fishing and he was an avid motorcycle rider. In addition to his, parents he was preceded in death by his wife Shelby Jean Plunkette in 1994 and one son Danny Plunkette in 1975. He is survived by his mate of fifteen years, Barbara Classen of Earlington, KY, four sons Tony Plunkette of Mortons Gap, KY, Tommy Plunkette of Eddyville, KY, Tim Plunkette of Ilsley, KY, Tabby Plunkette of Dudley, IL, one sister Evelyn Carnal of Earlington, KY, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday 06-08-11 at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Bro. Kim Hudson officiating. His burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington, KY. There will be a military service at the cemetery. His visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Reid-Walters Funeral Home and from 9:00a.m.until the service time on Wednesday.
