Daniel L Gardner

October 27, 1947 — March 20, 2023

Daniel L. Gardner went to be with the Lord on March 20, 2023 after an illness while at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, Ky. He was born in Jackson, Michigan on October 27, 1947, to LeRoy Gardner and Grace (Kiss) Gardner.


Dan grew up in Napoleon, Michigan where he was a proud member of the Napoleon Volunteer Fire Department and town Supervisor for a number of years. Later in life he moved his family to Henderson, Kentucky where he resided upon his passing.


Dan was a veteran of Navy Reserve and a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.


Dan is preceded in death by his father LeRoy Gardner, mother Grace Gardner, brother Dean Gardner, son Daniel Gardner Jr., brother in law Jerry Campbell and brother in law Ron Bristow. Dan is survived by Eric Gardner, son, sisters Marilyn Campbell (Jerry Campbell – deceased) and Karen Lienhard (Michael). Grandchildren, Avery Gardner, Grant Gardner, Gracie Gardner and Lainey Gardner.


Dan retired several years back from Curtis Investments, where he was facility maintenance for commercial real estate buildings in downtown Evansville. He loved being able to assist the tenants.


Dan was a natural born tinker. Whether in was in the yard, in his garage or wanting to help others, he truly was never one to not help others in need. Dan had developed a true passion for the Salvation Army over the last several years and looked forward every week to being able to volunteer there.


A Life Celebration will be held 6:00 PM Friday, July 21, 2023 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel with Pastor Mike Snyder officiating.  Visitation will be Friday 4:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.


Contributions in Dan’s memory will be accepted at Salvation Army of Henderson or Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
