Daniel Joseph Long

Daniel J. Long passed away on May 4th, 2017 from complications as a result of his battle with cancer. Dan was born in Indianapolis, IN on September 5, 1952. He was a son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force; where he learned his trade as a biomedical equipment specialist. He was employed by Michiana X-ray, Inc which serviced RDI in the Owensboro area for years. He considered these people his work family. Anyone that knew Dan, absolutely knew he loved to fish. They also knew he was good at it. This was his hobby, his passion, and he loved to share his wisdom and his fish. Dan was preceded in death by his mother; Barbara Jean Christy Johnson, his stepfather; Harry Eugene Johnson, and his step son; Joshua Freeland. He was survived by his wife Jessica Ann Long, his father Robert Dale Long and wife Lois. Dad had five children David Long (Cassie), Elizabeth (Sean) Henady, Bryan (Amber) Caldwell, Riley (Rachel) Long, Corbin (Jamie) Long. Pa Dan had 11 grandchildren: Christina, Tyler, Jace, Savannah, Joshua, Jaydon, Bryanna, Sarah, Camden, Bella, Colton and two great Grandchildren Emily and Adelyn. Danny had six brothers: Bobby, Mikey, Billy, Ricky, Marky, and Carl. A Large extended family full of in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services will be 12:00 P.M Tuesday May 9, 2017 at Tomblinson Funeral In Henderson. Pastor Greg Lindsey will officiate. Visitation will be Monday May 8, 2017 5-8 P.M and on Tuesday 10 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fernwood Cemetery where the American Legion Worsham Post #40 will conduct military rites.
