Darla Jo Barrett

Darla Jo Barrett, 74, of Henderson, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Deaconess Henderson Hospital. She was born in Henderson on April 28, 1947 to the late Alvin and Mildred (Thomas) Stone. She was a homemaker and attended Bellfield Baptist Church. She was a great cook and took care of everyone, so much so, she warmly referred to as the “Mother Teresa of Henderson.” In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Barrett and siblings, Ernest Stone, Carl Stone, and Glenda Sue Oliver. Surviving is her husband of 57 years, Stanley Barrett; son, John and wife (whom was more like her daughter), Krista; brother, David Earl Stone three grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces and nephews; and the “Thelma to her Louise,” Beth Hubbard. Funeral services will be Friday, December 17 at 1 p.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
