Darrel Wayne Lindauer

Darrel W. Lindauer, 82, of Holiday, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2024, at his home. He was surrounded by family and friends. He had been under the care of Chapters Health System Hospice for the last several months.

Darrel was born to the late Roman and Helen (Lovell) Lindauer in Evansville, Indiana. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bill and Joe. He is survived by his ex-wife Patricia Lindauer.

Darrel’s lifelong dream was to be a police officer. After holding various jobs he joined the Henderson City Police Department, where he retired after 20 years. Darrel worked as a patrolman for many years before he was promoted to Sergeant in crime prevention and served as a training officer. Again, after holding various jobs, he joined the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department where he worked for 13 years, transporting youth offenders to Bowling Green, KY, before switching to the patrol division.

Funeral services to celebrate Darrel’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, with Brother Bill Schwartz officiating. The burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Evansville, IN.

Pallbearers will be: Larry Carroll, Tom Carroll, Matt Carroll, Peter Calkin, Ernest Green, and Mike Richardson. Honorary pallbearers are: Tom Septer, Larry Ivie, Roger Bealmear, Steve Sowards, Tim Middleton, and Clint Drennon.

Visitation for friends and family will be held from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 13.
