David Kenneth Hayashi

David Kenneth Hayashi of Henderson, KY passed away after a stroke at Deaconess Gateway Hospital (Newburgh, IN) on August 13, 2024. David was born August 23, 1981, in Daytona Beach, FL.


He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, parents, Darry and Donna, in-laws, Bolivar and Ana Rosa Cuevas, grandparents, Morgan and Margaret Campbell, sister, Kellye (Jason) Rodriguez, sisters-in-law, Sara (Alex) Bretch, Rosa (Porter) Hawley, and Rosanna Cuevas, nephews, Robert and Isaac, niece, Ana, puppies, Zoey and Honey, and aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends who were blessed to know David.


He served in the music ministry at the following churches: First Baptist Church of Edgewater of Edgewater, FL, Calvery Baptist Church of Moultrie, GA, Crossroads Baptist Church of Valdosta, GA, Covenant Baptist Church of Valdosta, GA, Hurstbourne Baptist Church of Louisville, KY and Henderson’s First Baptist Church of Henderson, KY. David was a pastor and gifted tenor. He graduated from Spruce Creek High School where he played the trumpet in the marching band and jazz bands and sang in multiple choirs. He attended Daytona Beach Community College, Florida State University, Valdosta State University, and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. David is remembered for being an always-accessible, genuine friend, an amazing cook, and a gifted tenor.


A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024, between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at The Vault, 208 N. Main Street, Henderson, KY 42420. The family is planning a Memorial Service to be held in New Smyrna Beach, FL. The date and time will be announced soon.
