David E Johnson

David E. Johnson, 85 of Henderson, died on October 2, 2015 at the Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born in Henderson county on February 12, 1930 to the late Sidney and Margaret Denton Johnson. He retired after 37 years from Gibbs Die Casting, he was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Hebbardsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Keith Johnson in 1994 and his brother, Preston A. Johnson in 2013. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Corine Johnson, children Tim (Gayle) Johnson of Henderson, Cindy (Marcus) Martin of Henderson, Tonya (Marty) Capps of Henderson, and Scott (Kristy) Johnson of Henderson, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel with Bro Andy Weaver and Rev Hollis Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Cash Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home, and on Tuesday 10:00 until service time. Full Military Rites will be conducted by The American Legion Worsham Post 40 burial detail at graveside. Pallbearers will be Tim Johnson, Lance Johnson, Adam Johnson, Preston Johnson, Jr, Zach Capps, and Andy Capps. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice and The American Cancer Society.
