David Wayne Onyett

March 28, 1958 — January 1, 2015

David Wayne Onyett passed away January 1, 2015, at the age of 56 at his home, surrounded by his family after a heroic fight with cancer. David spent most of his professional life as a truck driver. He was a member of Finley Baptist Church, an avid UK basketball fan; Blue Blood ran in his veins. He lived in Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix and then settling here in Henderson with his wife Melissa and raising his granddaughter, Chevelle Rose, "the light of his life". He was dedicated to his family and friends. David lived his life by strict rules he placed for himself and his family, which made him unique in his own loving way. David loved camping, where a lot of happy memories were created. David gave of himself to help family, neighbors and friends without complaint whenever help was needed. He wasn't afraid of hard manual labor, cause that's what made him tick and run at his best. He never gave just half, it was all or nothing. Most importantly David loved to cook on his open pit BBQ/Smoker that he designed and built with the help of his dear friends. His chicken and much loved pork butt will be missed. David himself will be extremely missed. David is preceded in death by his Father, Joseph Onyett, his Son, Robert Onyett, and a Father-in-law, Robert Crowley. David is survived by his wife Melissa Onyett of Henderson, KY, daughters, Rebekka (Bekki Lyn) Moore, Chelsei Myers both of Henderson, Jessica Engemann (Eric) of Phoenix, AZ, host daughter, Laura Neumann of Hattersheim, Germany, son R.
