Dawnelle Joanne Shanks, 83, of Slaughters, KY passed away Friday, June 5, 2020 at home with her family by her side. Mrs. Shanks was born July 8, 1936 in Highland Park, MI to the late Daniel and Orpha Leahy.  She was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church which she loved attending.  She worked in food service at Clinic Convalescent  in Madisonville, KY.  She loved spending time with her family and lighthouses. She is survived by her five children, Danny Shanks of Slaughters, KY, DeAnn Wineinger (Ed) of Jasper, IN, Darla Austin (Mike) of Hanson, KY, Randy Shanks (Violet) of Henderson, Ky, LaDeana Stagner (Phil) of Sebree, KY; one brother, John Randall Leahy (Sandy) of Clawson, MI; 14 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. There will be a graveside service at Slaughters Cemetery, Monday, June 8, 2020, 11:00 AM with Bro. Brian West officiating.  The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Cartwright, Matthew Cartwright, Nathan Austin, Kaden Austin, Braden Stagner, Erik Duncan, Eddie Wineinger, Bryan Duncan. Tomblinson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
