Dee Austin, 79 of Henderson passed away Sunday August 25, 2013 at Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born in Madisonville, Kentucky to Waverly Donald and Leona Hunter Austin on May 2, 1934. Dee retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 2007 after 54 years of service. He was a very talented musician and songwriter who played country music with his band all over the Tri-state. He wrote and recorded “She Loves Me Back” for his wife and “Early to bed, Early to Rise” which was recorded by Larry Barnes as well as many other songs. Dee was also a regular on the Weekly show Hillside Hoedown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Francis Ruston and brother George Austin. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Virginia Sue Austin 6 Children: Tim Austin and wife Karen of Henderson Dale Austin and fiancé Robin Carter of Henderson Kaylon Austin of Henderson Waylon Austin and wife Rita of Dixon, KY Gena Evans and husband Jack of Shepherdsville, KY Laura Bailey of Henderson 11 Grandchildren 11 Great-grandchildren 4 Nephews Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday August 28, 2013 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Pastor Jack Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson. Visitation will be Tuesday 3-8PM and Wednesday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Eric Austin, Eric Wilson, Kyle Austin, Brian Bailey, Christian Corbell and Kalon Michael Austin. Honorary pallbearer will be Drake Austin.
