Denise Courtney Hudson Ford

Denise Courtney Hudson Ford passed away peacefully Thursday, January 18, 2018 in the loving care of Lucy Smith King Care Center of Henderson, KY. Denise was a loving and kind woman. She loved her family unconditionally. Denise was especially proud of her grandchildren: Jarrett, who she helped raise and called “the light of her life” and Kerigan, who she treasured and was overjoyed by the young woman she has become. She was blessed to have met her great grandchildren: Kayne, who she promptly named “Little Prince” and Ezra. Denise also shared a special bond with her niece, Margaret, her “partner in crime.” She was both a mother and a father to her children, Kay and Troy, who were her world. She also loved her extended family, the Stones, who loved her as their own grandmother. Denise is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ford; parents, Dwight and Kathlyn Hudson; three brothers, Billy Hudson, David Hudson, and Zeke Hudson; and two sisters, Bettye Gilmore and Margaret Southard. She is survived by her children, Kathlyn (Jerry) Stone and Troy (Lisa) Lamoree; two grandchildren, Jarrett (Elizabeth) Stone and Kerigan Lamoree; two great grandchildren, Kayne Stone and Ezra Atkinson; two sisters, Dorothy Roberts and Linda Buckreis; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, KY with Minister David Salisbury officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday, January 22, 2018. Contributions may be made to Lucy Smith King Care Center.
