Dennis Ray Means, 66, passed away peacefully at his home on July 29, 2024. Born on November 2, 1957, in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, Dennis was the beloved son of Martin and Josephine Means. A dedicated member of Bethel Pentecostal in Poole, Dennis not only attended but also served as a preacher, sharing his faith and touching the lives of many in his community.
Dennis was known for his love of fishing, a pastime that brought him great joy. He was a devoted family man, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather. Dennis had a unique gift for connecting with people and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Preceding him in death were his father, Martin Means, and his brother, Jerry Means.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Glory Means; his mother, Josephine Means; his three children, Jeremy Means (Felicia), Melinda Ashley (Travis), and James Means; his sister, Marsha Burnett (Stephen); seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, Thursday at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Onton Cemetery, with Rev. Thornton Stanley officiating.
Pallbearers will be Trystan Means, Hayden Means, Lee Meredith, Chris Rakestraw, Christopher Ruggles and Travis Ashley.
Dennis's presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
