Deward Wayne Davenport

Deward Wayne Davenport 84, of Lake Station, IN passed away on June 3, 2017 at Lucy Smith King Care Center.  He was born in Princeton, KY on March 12, 1933 to the late O. Bub Davenport and Minnie Carmack Davenport.  He retired in 1998 from LTV Steel Co. as a locomotive diesel tech. He was an United States Navy Veteran and a deacon at Liverpool Baptist Church in Lake Station, IN.  He was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute in 1978. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Joan Davenport of Lake Station, IN, children; Randy Davenport and wife Gail of Pembroke Pines, FL, Vicki Stewart of Portage, IN, his sister in law; Winona Davenport of Hobart, IN, grandchildren; Stephanie Henderson and husband Kevin of Clermont, FL, Matthew Stewart of Hobart, IN, Nathaniel Stewart in Portage, IN, Billy Davenport of Pembroke Pines, FL, great granddaughter; Jessica Henderson of Clermont, FL and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 11 am at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson.  Reverend Don Taylor and Reverend Randy Duncan will officiate.  Burial will be in Lance Nichols Cemetery in Princeton, KY at 1:30 pm.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 pm and on Wednesday from 9-11.  Memorial contributions can be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice, 2410 S Green St, Henderson, KY 42420.  Online condolences can be made at www.tomblinsonfuneralhome.com
