Diane Nellis, a vibrant and loving soul, born on March 25, 1949, in Henderson, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on August 8, 2025, at the age of 76. Diane was deeply rooted in her community and is remembered for her generous spirit, exceptional crafting skills, and her passion for music. She had a unique ability to treat everyone she met like family, making a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A dedicated professional, Diane had a successful career as a produce manager for Sureway, from which she retired on September 23, 2011. In the years following her retirement, she continued to share her expertise working for Reliable Handyman from 2018 to 2025 and Premier Property as a property manager from 2014 to 2025. Her colleagues admired her for her work ethic, warmth, and the kindness she brought to the workplace.
Diane leaves behind her beloved son, Lance Nicholas Shelton; her dear brothers, Don Brown and Earl Brown; and a multitude of friends and family who will cherish her memory and celebrate her life.
Funeral services will be held on August 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Tomblinson Funeral Home, with Pastor Phil Waggoner officiating. Prior to the service, there will be visitation hours at the same location from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on August 16, as well as an evening visitation on August 15 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Diane will be laid to rest at Springdale Cemetery in Sebree, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice, an organization close to Diane's heart.
As we gather to celebrate Diane's remarkable life, we remember a woman who embraced creativity, joy, and a deep love for those around her. Her legacy will continue to inspire us all.
