Dixie Anna West

Dixie Anna West, 97, of Henderson, KY passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Redbanks Nursing and Rehab of Henderson.

Dixie was born November 29, 1926, in Boxville, KY to the late Strawther and Frankie (Melton) Frields. Dixie was the last remaining member of the Class of 1944 of Spottsville High School. She volunteered at the Salvation Army and was a KY Colonel. She worked for many years as an election worker and was a lifelong Henderson General Baptist Church member.

In addition to her parents, Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Thomas West; 3 brothers, and 1 grandson.

Dixie is survived by her son, Rickey Lee West (Nancy) of Dade City, FL; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Redbanks for their exceptional care and compassion for Dixie.

Funeral services will be on Monday, July 29, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson Chapel with Bro. Gary Shoulders officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole, KY.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
