Don Anthony Powers, 66, of Henderson, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville.
He was born in Henderson on October 18, 1957, to the late Alfred Gene and Gladys Ann (Davis) Powers.
Don was a United States Army veteran who retired from Henderson Municipal Power & Light and held a bachelor’s in elementary education. A man of strong faith, he was a member of Henderson First Baptist Church and attended Cash Creek Baptist Church, serving as a deacon at both.
A true jack of all trades, Don enjoyed working in the yard, spending time in the shop, and taking on new projects. In his youth, he was an avid cyclist, always prioritizing his fitness through regular, challenging bike rides.
He had a quick wit, a great sense of humor, and a deep love for music. He had a deep love for animals and an even greater love for his children and fur babies.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his sister, Denise Powers.
He is survived by his wife, Jana (Price) Powers; sons, Davis Powers of Louisville, Ben Powers (Grace Littlepage) of Henderson , and Tate Powers of Henderson; sister, Debra Fuoco (Steve) of Ashburn, VA; brothers, David Powers (Dana) and Darrin Powers, all of Henderson; half-sister, Robin Lancaster of Henderson; many nieces and nephews; many Price Family sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and fur babies, Daisy, Tabby, Carol, and Nacho.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 22 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Mrs. Ellie Coursey officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, August 22 from 10 a.m. until funeral time.
