Donald C. “Donnie” Gogel, 69, of Bluff City, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at his daughter’s home surrounded by family, under the care of Deaconess Hospice after battling Glioblastoma.
He was born in Jasper, IN to the late Kenneth and Rita Gogel.
Donnie was a thoroughbred horse trainer for many years and retired from OMNICO Plastics. He loved fishing, going to Ellis Park, hanging out with his friends, and spending time with family. He lived a life on his own terms and was a simple man. He had a deep love for his grandchildren and an even greater love for his children and fur babies.
He is survived by his son, Buddy Gogel (Megan); daughter, Missy Gogel (Josh); brothers, Allen Gogel (Rita) and Perry Gogel; sister, Sarah Leach; grandchildren, Breighton Gogel, Jasmine Flahardy, Preston Gogel, Ethan Flahardy, Arrington Gogel, Navy Grace Gogel, Ti White, and Jade White; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; and fur babies, Simon, Willy, and Duke.
Celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. on September 8, 2024 at Sandy Lee Watkins Park.
Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson is handling arrangements.
