Donald Parks. Don went home to be with our Lord on November 19, 2011 at the Heart Hospital in Newburgh, IN. He was surrounded by all his beloved family including his wife of 54 years, Janice (Fowler) Parks. He was born August 22, 1934 in Dekoven, KY. He played football for Sturgis High, was a Golden Glove boxing champ and served in the United States Air Force for 8 years. He was also a member of Zion Baptist Church. He worked for HMP&L as a welder for 32 years. He also loved to hunt, fish, garden, but most of all he was devoted to his family. In addition to his wife Janice, he is survived by two children, Vivian Parks Taylor and her husband James of Henderson County, KY and Michael Wayne Parks and his wife Michelle of Newburgh, IN. He also leaves a legacy in his 4 grandchildren, Natalie Taylor Reynolds and her husband Matt of Henderson, KY, Laura Taylor Scott and her husband Ryan of Henderson, KY, Seth Taylor of Owensboro, KY and Tyler Beeler of Newburgh, IN. Don also had three Great granddaughters that he adored, Ruby, Stella and Madison. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday November 23, 2011 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Rev. Mark Galloway will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 and Wednesday from 8:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be James Taylor, Seth Taylor, Osborne Fowler, Matthew Fowler, Matt Reynolds and Ryan Scott. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
