Donald Wayne Powell

Donald Wayne Powell, 71, of Robards, KY, was born June 2, 1954, in Henderson, KY to Carvel and Evelyn Powell. He passed on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.

Donnie was a son, brother, dad, poppy, great poppy, and friend to many. Donnie was a go-getter and always on the go. He loved being outdoors and tinkering with lawn mowers and tractors. He also enjoyed gardening and coon hunting. Throughout the years, he worked for Kendall Drilling, Tyson Foods, and Buchanan Farms.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Carvel and Evelyn Powell, and his brother, Randy Powell.

He is survived by his children, Monica (Molly, as her dad would call her) Duncan (Tim) of Dixon, Jeffery Powell (Sarah) of Sebree, Lesley VanMeter (Josh) of Franklin, IN, Zachery Rauch (Kendra) of Robards; grandchildren, Taylor, Haley, Titus, Tucker, Jaiden, Jace, Abby, and Delani; great-grandchildren, Avery, Ellison, Baylor, Knoxlee, Henslee, Huntlee, Carter, Mattie; sister, Ann Chandler; niece, LeeAnn Alstadt (JJ) and her children, Aiden and Thomas.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Sebree Chapel, with Bro. Mark Compton and Bro. Thorton Stanley officiating. Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole, KY.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 24, 2025, 3:00-7:00 PM, and on Monday, August 2025, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jaiden Powell, Jace Powell, Titus Duncan, Tim Duncan, Jeff Powell, Dereck Bassette, and Aiden Alstadt.
