Doris Jean Miles

Doris Jean Miles, 78 of Panama City Beach, Florida passed away Monday, March 18, 2024, from Stage 4 Cancer. She was born September 29, 1945, in Lancaster, South Carolina.

She and her husband lived most of their lives as a married couple (62 years) in Henderson. She retired from Henderson Conty Schools years ago. She enjoyed her church and enjoyed listening to her husband sing and play musical instruments. She enjoyed gardening and reading. She adored her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorris Rex Miles Jr.; daughter, April Dawn Miles; parents, Ted A Hinson and Fammie Bowers Hinson; 3 sisters, Rosie Moorefield, Lucille Rogers and Joyce Muenzel; 2 brothers, Prince “Ollie” Hinson and William Hinson.

She is survived by a son, Michael Miles of Nashville, TN, a daughter, Tammy Thompson (Darin) of Inlet Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Emilee Grace Thompson of San Jose, CA and Chase Weslee Thompson attending Indiana University; a sister, Jo McNeely (Frank) of Lancaster, SC and also several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson KY with Brother Jack Ross officiating. Burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 30, 2024, 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Danny Miles, Rob Reinitz, Charles Ringo, Mark Ross, and Paul Ross.
