Dorothy Mae Greer

Dorothy Mae (Mitchell) Greer, 80 of Earlington, KY passed away at 8:45 PM Monday February 15, 2010 at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville,KY. She was born June 7, 1929 in Earlington, KY to the late John Booker and Cora Mae (Locke) Mitchell. She was a retired cook at Grandma’s Kitchen in Mortons Gap, KY. She was also a member of the American Legion Post #2 Womens Auxillary. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James l. Greer, Sr, Daughter; Debbra Jean Bryant, sister; Lola Bell “Dobie” Wicks, and 2 brothers; James Robert and T. J. Mitchell. She is survived by 2 sons; James L. “Jim” and wife Brenda Greer of Henderson, KY Richard D. and wife Carol Greer of Mortons Gap, KY Daughter in law; Bert Eckelmann of Ponchatoula, LA Brother; Kenneth and wife Dorothy Mitchell of Nortonville, KY Grandchildren; Timothy “Rooster” Greer, Jeremy Allen Theriot, Johnny Greer, T. J. Carter, Kara Combs, and Richard “Bubba” Greer Great Grandchildren; Schuyler, Cheyenne, Trinity, Johnathon, Wesley and Kelcie Greer. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY. Pastor Jerry Brewer will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Mortons Gap, KY Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 and Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be; Johnny Greer, Richard “Bubba” Greer, Kenneth Mitchell, Jr., T. J. Carter, Logan Bailey and Dustin Clarke. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
