Dorothy Anna Harper Jackson 93 of Henderson, KY passed away March 06, 2018 under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. She was born on September 05, 1924 to the late Arthur and Violet Harper. Dorothy was a graduate of Bosse High School. Ms. Dorothy or just Granny, as she was affectionately referred to by employees and customers of Buehler’s Buy Low and Sureway. She loved life and never met a stranger. Her smiling face and bright personality was a welcoming beacon at both stores for many years as well as Young’s Department store. Dorothy was a member of Airline Baptist Church, Temple 41, daughters of the Nile Alpha Delta Chapter and Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an Aunt, Mardelle McCormick. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Jackson of Henderson and Nancy Steenbergen (Phil) of Louisville and a son Mark Jackson (Shannon) of Atlanta Ga. Five grandchildren; Tiffany Herndon (Preston, Christopher Connell (Jennifer), Lisa Thoma (Matt), Ashley Whitworth (Andy) and Daniel Edds (Sara). Eleven Great Grandchildren; Nathaniel, Dylan, Travis, Gavin, Aiden, Caitlyn, Abigail, Jackson, Harper, Jacob and Kendall. A Cousin Carol McCormick of Connecticut and Best friends and Caregivers Helen Sweeny , Gwen and Allen Jenner. Funeral services will be 11 A.M Friday March 09, 2018 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson Ky. Brother Nathan Whisnant will officiate. Burial will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery in Evansville Indiana. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 P.M Thursday March 08, 2018 and Friday March 09, 2018 9:00 A.M until service time. Expression of sympathy can be made to St. Anthony’s hospice and Airline Baptist Church.
