Dorothy (Kellen) Alvey

Dorothy (Kellen) Alvey, 91 of Henderson passed away September 8, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center. She was born May 20, 1927 in Union Co. Kentucky to the late Henry Edward and Gertrude Ellen (Davis) Kellen. Dorothy retired from Methodist Hospital as a nursing assistant and was a member of Pleasant Valley Christian Church.  She loved spending time with family especially grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; James Ben Alvey, son in law; Mike Frederick, two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by two daughters; Phyllis Pritchett and her husband Jim and Debbie Frederick, four grandchildren; Ginger Kreyling, Valerie Gibson, Rachel Talley, Derek Talley, four great grandchildren; McKenzie, Drew, Kayla and Mason. Graveside services will be private.  Visitation will be Tuesday, September 11 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson. Pallbearers will be Derek Talley, Matt Kreyling, Drew Sigler and Wayne Gibson. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
