Dorothy Mae (Owens) Stone

Dorothy Mae (Owens) Stone, 71, of Henderson passed away Thursday morning January 25, 2024 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital surrounded, and comforted by family.

She was born in Webster County, Kentucky on March 10, 1952 to the late Clyde G. and Ruby (Stone) Owens.

Dorothy was a homemaker and excellent cook. She was a member of Christian Life Church (Union Holiness Church) and loved the Lord. Dorothy also loved being a Granny to her grandchildren, and held great pride in them, as well as her two sons. She loved cooking homemade meals from scratch for her family and never left a belly unfull. She enjoyed mornings with fresh coffee (lots of sugar). Her afternoons were spent reading her bible, playing games on her phone, and watching good tv shows. She loved karaoke and singing in her younger days. She was a staple to the Stone, and Owen’s family and her presence and laughter will be greatly missed by her loved ones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, James Owens, Betty Jean Donahue, Bobby Joe Owens, Linda Sue Howard, Donald Owens and Thomas Ray Owens; nephew, Aaron Dale Parrish; and her companion, Harry Lee Dennis.

Survivors include two sons, Jason Edward Stone (Shadley), Brad Allen Stone (April); two sisters Mary Alice Adams (Dale), Wanda Owens Lynn (George); sister-in-law Sue Owens; five grandchildren Kayla Stone, Chelsea Stone, Addysanne Stone, Katelynn Rightmyer (Luke) and Aydan Stone.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at Christian Life Church with Bro. Mark Carter officiating.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m., until service time at the church.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will include: Kayla Stone, Jeromy Owens, Jeff Owens, Robert Owens, Steven Owens, Ricky Pike.

Honorary pallbearers: Jimmy Owens, Luke Rightmyer.

Arrangements are being handled by Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel.
