Dorris Roy Melton

Dorris Roy Melton, 88 of Vandetta,KY passed away at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree, KY 4:20 PM January 17, 2012. He was a member of the Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Hanson, retired farmer and farm equipment salesman. He was born February 11, 1923 on Webster Co. to Dorris and Ruby (Bridwell) Melton. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Sue Tapp and Frieda Sandefur He is survived by his wife Betty Jean (Tapp) Melton. 1 son: Joe and his wife Lydia Melton of Slaughters 2 daughters: Kay Mallicoat of Hanson Pam Roberts of Madisonville 2 Sisters: Martha Lang of Atlanta, GA Barbara Parish of Madisonville 2 Brothers: Jerry Melton of Tilden Larry Melton of Poole 5 Grandchildren: Timmy Melton, Terry Melton, Jason Overby, Krista Bunch and Lane Williams 8 Great Grandchildren Nieces and nephews Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Sunday January 22 at Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole KY. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service Sunday. Gary Taylor will officiate. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Saturday January 21 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel.
