Dorris "Rex" Miles Jr.

Dorris “Rex” Miles 84 passed away January 1,2024 from a long illness and complications from several strokes. He was born, raised, and lived most of his life in Henderson, KY.

He retired from Dana Corporation years ago and was a Vietnam Veteran for the US Navy. He loved Jesus and his family. He also loved his music and was always singing and playing some type of musical instrument. His true musical instrument of love was the steel guitar. He had a great musical talent. He loved playing music with others and in his church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dorris Miles Sr. And Ruby Tompkins Miles, a sister Judy Gayle Dyer and an infant daughter April Dawn Miles.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Doris Jean Miles, a son Michael Miles of Nashville TN, a daughter Tammy Thompson (Darin) of Inlet Beach, FL, two grandchildren, Emilee Grace Thompson of San Jose, CA and Chase Weslee Thompson attending Indiana University, a sister-in-law Jo McNeely (Frank) of Lancaster SC and also several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday January 6, 2024, at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Brother Jack Ross officiating with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Saturday 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Danny Miles, Randy Hunt, Rob Reinitz, Charles Ringo, Paul Ross and Mark Ross. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Dyer and Doug Wilkerson.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask you give expressions of sympathy to Victory Christian Center in Henderson, KY.
