Dorris Ernest Peak

Dorris Ernest Peak. 85, passed away 6:00 PM August 7, 2013 at his residence. He was born November 21, 1927 in Henderson, KY to the late John Michael and Virgie Emma (Denton) Peak. He was an operator for Henderson Municipal Power and Light for 30 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 40 and Henderson Moose Lodge #732, and a US Navy veteran. He was a kind and fair man. He loved nature and his children dearly. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He was always tinkering on something or dealing with rental properties. He was a soft-spoken man who lived a simple life. He was a blessing to his family and friends. Words cannot express the loss that will be felt from his departure. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, 5 brothers, and 2 infant children. He is survived by 2 children: Sandy Peak of Coon Rapids, IA and Steve Peak and ex-wife Linda Barnett of Henderson, KY, 1 brother James Martin “Bud” Peak of California, 8 grandchildren Tamishia Wilson, Kenasha Peak, Whitney Peak, Stephanie Peak, Tiffany Peak, Diana Johnston, James Johnston, Daniel Johnston and his companion Shelby Shaw, and 7 great grandchildren several nieces and nephews, and numerous beloved friends and neighbors in Henderson, KY. Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday August 14, 2013 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel with Rev. Mary Wrye officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday August 13, 2013 from 4-8 PM and Wednesday August 14, 2013 from 10 AM-until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Worsham #40 burial detail. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
