Dorris Edward Stone

Dorris Edward Stone, 81, of Spottsville, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at home.

He was born in Tilden, KY on October 20, 1940 to the late Elmer C. and Carthy M. (Wilson) Stone.

Dorris was an oil field worker and farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Pentecostal Prayer Chapel in Providence, KY.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Edith Irene Stone, Joanne Stone, Dorothy Arthur, and Sue White; brothers, Thomas Stone and Paul Stone; and granddaughter, Allison Donahoo.

Dorris is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ernestine “Tina” Stone; children, Cynthia Gross (David), Deborah Samples (Tony), Bonnie Kay Nunn (Brandon), and Keith Stone (Christia); brother, Larry Stone (Rita); sister, Carol Lynn Sparks; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 15 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Reverends Phillip Dunning and Tony Samples officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Worsham Post #40 Honor Guard and Burial Detail.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 14 from 3-7 p.m. and on Thursday, September 15 from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Gish, Justin Gish, Bryan Samples, Michael Samples, Kristopher Jenkins, Joseph Jenkins, Luc Jenkins, and Jeremy Ruiz.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kaytlin Huff, Skye Stone, Ashley Mena, Louis Torres, and Savanna Gish.
