Earl David Major, 93, of Slaughters, KY passed away Monday March 10, at 12:25 AM at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY. He was born to the late Claude and Blanche (Biggs) Major July 21, 1920 in Hopkins County, KY. He was a member and a deacon at New Hope General Baptist Church in Slaughters, retired from American Mine Tool, formerly worked at Craddock Furniture in Evansville, and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Coretta (Jobe) Major, a son Gary Wayne Major, 2 brothers, 4 sisters and a daughter-in-law Ann Major. He is survived by a son: George David Major of Cadiz. KY 2 daughters: Glenda Diann (husband Billy) Riden of Providence, KY Ginger Debra (husband Terry) Spence of Slaughters, KY Daughter-in-law: Rita Major 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday March 13, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel with Bro. Don Adams officiating. Burial will be in Slaughters Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday March 12 and 9-11 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Mark Major, Tracy Major, Terry Dexter, Marvin Evans, Jon Watkins, and Dustin Watkins.
