Eddie Garrett

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Eddie Garrett, 82, of Henderson, Kentucky, who departed this life on October 21, 2025, due to natural causes. Born on May 23, 1943, Eddie led a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

Eddie is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Scarlet Garrett; his daughter, Shelly Roy (Anthony); and his stepson, Kris Rice (Stephanie), and stepdaughter, Heather Boatman (Aaron). He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and a great-grandfather to his cherished great-granddaughter, Luna Butler. Eddie is also survived by his brother, Jimmy Garrett (Teresa).

Eddie was a devoted member of Grace Point Church, having previously been a cherished member of Immanuel Baptist Temple. His passions included fishing, camping, and drag racing, and he took immense joy in cheering for the University of Kentucky basketball team.

Visitation will be held at Grace Point Church on October 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location at 2:00 PM with Brother Eric Fannin officiating. A burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Eddie Garrett will be remembered for his loving nature, commitment to family, and zest for life. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Eddie was preceded in death by his daughter Janet Garrett; his grandson Eric Alan Thomas and his parents Shellie Ray and Nola Mazine Garrett.
