Eric S. Douthit, 47, of Henderson passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Douthit. Eric is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sara Douthit; daughters, Madison Nicole Douthit and Lauren Sierra Douthit, all of Henderson; parent, Mary Douthit of Evansville, IN; siblings, Jason Douthit (Amy) of Plainfield, IN and Amber Sullivan (Shawn) of Noblesville, IN; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Eric was Fleet Supervisor and EMT at American Medical Response for almost 22 years. He took pride in the fleet and helping other people. This past year he was chosen to become a handler for a therapy dog named Beedo, for AMR Employees. Eric was very adventurous and loved to travel. He loved being outdoors while enjoying things like fishing, riding dirt bikes and his ATV. He was a Sunday School teacher and active deacon at Zion Baptist Church. He loved cooking and barbecuing whenever he had the chance. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan that loved cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs and enjoyed watching hockey. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Rodney Groff and Bro. Mike Spivey officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 3 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. and Monday January 4 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church. Tomblinson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Pallbearers will be Court Douthit, Scott Collins, David Snow, Bobby Cottingham, Ben Koller, and Chris Dillard. Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the local Gideon’s International chapter.
