Ernestine "Ernie" Christian

Ernestine “Ernie” Christian, 86, of Henderson passed away Saturday December 16, 2017 at Deaconess Gateway.  She was born in Boxville, Kentucky on March 14, 1931 to the late Joseph Ernest and Myrtle Agnes (Girten) Alvey.  She was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Woman’s Democratic Club and the Executive Democratic Board.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph D. Christian in 2008, 1 son David Alvey, 2 sisters and 8 brothers.  Survivors include her daughter Ramona Duckworth and husband Bob of Cairo, Kentucky, 5 step-children, 1 sister Patsy Hatfield of Henderson, 3 grandchildren Brandy Brown and husband Bryan of Newburgh, Aimee Alvey of Henderson, Jeff Phillips of Columbus, Ohio, 7 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren Hadleigh and Jacob Brown, 4 step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday December 21, 2017 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson.  Pastor Kris Holzmeyer will officiate.  There will be a private burial at a later date.  Visitation will be Wednesday 4-8PM and Thursday 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Henderson County Humane Society.
