Eugene K. Linney, Jr.

Eugene K. "Gene" Linney,Jr., 84, of Henderson passed away at 5:00 AM Satruday May 7, 2011 at his residence. He was born February 15, 1927 in Jeffersonville, IN to Eugene K. and Grace Frances (Mayfield) Linney, Sr. He was retired from the Henderson J.C. Penney Store wher he was store manager for many years, a member of the First Christian Church in Henderson, a WWII US Airforce veteran and a Mason. Gene was also an avid fisherman, loved to trap shoot and was a big IU fan. He had also served as Officer and planner for Habitat for Humanity and as a coach for Little League and Pee Wee League. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step mother; Edith Linney, daughter Patricia Ann (Linney) Anderson, a brother Billy Linney, and a sister Shirley Shouse. He is survived by his wife Juanita May Linney, 2 sons Eugene "E.K." and his wife Cynthia Linney III of Henderson, KY, John Richard Linney of Henderson, KY, 2 daughters Pamela and her husband Bruce Eblen of Henderson, kY, Jacky and her husband Kendal Bryan of Henderson, KY, 1 brother Paul Linney of Jeffersonville, IN, 1 sister Cinda and her husband Bill Richards of Louisville, KY, 7 grandchildren Jeremy and his wife Holly Linney, Amber Anderson, John and his wife Katie Linney, Hans Schmidt V, Patty Schnmidt, Page Schmidt, and Dustin and his wife Cydney Laubner, 6 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services will be held Tuesday May 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel with Dr. David Leslie officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military rites by American Legion Worsham Post 40. Visitation will be Monday May 9 from 2:00-8:00 PM and Tuesday May 10 from 9 AM until service time at the funeral home.
