Eva Lou Downs, 71 of Slaughters passed away Saturday September 20, 2014 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. She was born in Slaughters to Thomas and Margaret Earl (Gipson) Sutton on February 16, 1943. Eva Lou was a homemaker and a member of Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 son George Joey Downs, 1 brother Michael Sutton and 2 sisters Ginger Gail Love and Barbara Jean Smith. Survivors include: her husband Charles Downs 2 Daughters: Charlotte Brown and husband Larry of Henderson Elizabeth Downs-Hardin and husband David of Slaughters 4 Sons: Ricky Downs and wife Sylvia of Henderson Richard Sutton and wife Lillie of Slaughters Charlie Downs, Jr. of Slaughters Christopher Glenn “Cooter” Downs of Slaughters 2 Brothers: Thomas “Hokey” Sutton of Texas Stevie Earl Sutton and wife Carolyn of Slaughters 17 Grandchildren 20 Great-grandchildren 2 Great-great grandchildren Services will be 2PM Tuesday September 23, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel. Rev. Bobby Gish will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Brick Church Cemetery in Slaughters. Visitation will be Monday 5-8PM and Tuesday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
