Floyd E. Hope Jr., 88, of Henderson, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born in Henderson on March 7, 1933 to the late Floyd and Hallie Hope. He was a foreman at Thompson International Inc. over 40 years and, because of his love of mowing, owned and operated Floyd’s Mowing Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Hattie (Ivie) Hope. He is survived by his children, Vicki Alvey (Ronnie), Steve Hope (Karen), Mike Hope (Charity), and Brenda Duncan (Eddie), all of Henderson; sisters, Joyce Bean of Smith Mills and Wanda Mattingly of Henderson; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Pastor Dylan Zahn officiating. Burial will follow at Fernwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 4 from 4-6 p.m. and on Saturday, June 5 from 9-11 a.m., both at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Mr. Hope’s grandsons.
