Frances Ruth (Staples) London, 64, of Henderson, Ky. passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at Methodist Hospital of Henderson. She was born June 27, 1953 in Henderson County to the late James Hobson and Anna Ruth “Granny Anna” (Pressley) Staples. Mrs. London served as the former Henderson County Circuit Court Clerk for 11 years, retiring in 2016. She was a Godly Christian woman, that often used her faith as her guide, and attended Cash Creek Baptist Church in Henderson. She was a member of the Kentucky Association of Circuit Court Clerks and the Henderson County Democratic Party. She also received the honor of being named a Kentucky Colonel. Mrs. London graduated Henderson County High School in 1971. She was a Band Mom to many, a 24-year breast cancer survivor, an avid Henderson County Colonels and UK Basketball sports fan. She often sought to brighten one’s day. Further, Mrs. London championed selflessly for others despite their current circumstance. Being a public servant for Henderson County was one of her highest honors. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Denham “Denny” Williams; father- and mother-in-law, Tom and Doris London; brother-in-law, Ricky London; and sister-in-law, Lois Williams. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Mike London of Henderson; two daughters, Audra Elayne London and Amye Ruth London, both of Henderson; brother, James “Jim” Williams of Henderson; sister, Marianna Stiles (Roger) of Bowling Green, Ky.; brother-in-law, Tom Mathis of Crossville, Tenn.; sister-in-laws, Connie Stone and Mary Utley (Rudy), both of Henderson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Tomblinson Funeral Home of Henderson with Dr. Bill Patterson, Dr. Ron Osborne, and Pastor Brandon Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Tomblinson Funeral Home of Henderson from 3-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, and Wednesday, May 9, 2018, from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to the Kentucky Circuit Court Clerks’ Trust For Life, 982 Eastern Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40217 and/or the Alzheimer’s Association, 701 N Weinbach Ave #510, Evansville, IN 47711.
