Frank Winstead, Jr. 96, of Henderson passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Deaconess Henderson Hospital.
He was born June 14, 1928, in Evansville, IN to the late Frank Winstead, Sr. and Annie Winstead.
A proud member of Finley Baptist Church, he found great comfort and community in worship and was known by many for his kind spirit and quiet strength. A devoted husband, friend, and man of strong faith, Frank lived a long and meaningful life rooted in service, love, and simple joys. A proud member of Finley Baptist Church. Frank had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found mowing the lawn or tending to his yardwork. He took pride in keeping things neat and beautiful, always with a smile and a wave for those passing by. Frank was an U. S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War.
He was a fan of University of Kentucky basketball; Frank rarely missed a game.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Winstead; infant son, Thomas Gene Winstead; daughter, Sheila Scott and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his two children, Laura Winstead and Scott Winstead (Lori); four grandchildren, April, Brandie, Vanessa, Matthew and step grandson, Connor; eight great grandchildren, Chelsea, Katelynn, Destinee, Seth, Aliva, Mattie, Brady, Amber and Jeston; one great-great grandchild on the way.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Bro. Jeff Burke officiating.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
Burial will be Townsend Cemetery.
The Pallbearers will be Connor Denham, Seth Duncan, Matt Winstead, Luke Rightmyer, Brady Winstead, Jacob Eblen and Brad Stone.
