Gary "Jake" Wayne Snow

Gary “Jake” Wayne Snow, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family.

Jake was born on August 27, 1954, in Henderson, Kentucky, to the late Jim and Lucille (Seay) Snow. He dedicated many years of his life to his work as an operator with Local 181, where he worked from 1975 until 2016. Jake also owned and operated Triple S Logging for 12 years.

Jake had a wonderful love for the Lord and was a member of Advance Baptist Church in Baskett. His faith was an important part of his life, and he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. Jake also enjoyed watching and playing golf and could often be found enjoying time outdoors.

In addition to his parents, Jake was preceded in death by his sister, Janie Snow Thompson; his two brothers, Tommy Joe Snow and Butch Snow; and his first wife, Billie Gayle Snow.

Jake is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Shelia Snow; his children, Jacob W. Snow (Misty), Emily Pike (Lucas), and Jessica “Baby Bear” Collins; his two sisters, Shirley Thompson (Clyde) and Debbie Powell; his eight grandchildren, Corey Samples (Katie), Cierra Hill (Drake), Hailey Snow (Dalton McLevain), Brennen Snow (Lexi Glassco), Natalie Sowders (Freddie), Caitlyn Pike (Keegan Brooks), Landon Pike (Kali Floyd), and Olivia Pike; and his great-grandchildren, Wesley Hill, Sydnee Hill, Waylon McLevain, Wrenlee McLevain, Reed Samples, and Andi Jane Samples.

Jake will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends for his strong faith, his love for those around him, and the many memories he created throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Advance Baptist Church in Baskett , with Brother Tony Henderson and Brother Ellis Payne officiating.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Tomblinson Funeral Home, and again on Friday at Advance Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Landon Pike, Brennen Snow, Corey Samples, Nick DeLong, Ian Snow, and Randy Tucker. 

Honorary pallbearer will be Vernon Levi Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Advance Baptist Church.
