Gary Wayne Nally

Gary Wayne Nally, 68, of Poseyville, IN, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Continue Care Hospital in Madisonville.

He was born in Corydon, KY on September 13, 1955 to the late Willis Gene Nally and late Ruby Mae (Blanford) Young.

Gary lived and breathed the coal industry and was a dedicated employee of Alliance Coal. He was a faithful man and true believer of God. Gary was devoted to every member of his family and adored his close relationship with his sister. In his younger days, Gary enjoyed hunting and was a muscle car enthusiast. He bought cars and built and restored them and was well-known by his nickname, “Novanut Gary.” Gary owned many Harleys over the years and went on rides out West five times. He was the most caring, compassionate, and understanding person and often went out of his way to help anyone under any circumstance.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Nally; and stepfather, Howard Young.

He is survived by his wife, Penny Nally; son, David Nally (Terri); stepchildren, Amanda Cummings (Harold), Candi Callas (Terrell), and Kerri Crowe (Brent); and fur baby, Bella Rose; 15 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; sister, Vicky Merkel (Mike); brother, Howie Young; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 27 at Tomblinson Funeral Home, 325 First Street, Henderson, KY 42420, with Pastor Terry Rhye and Tod Hill officiating.

Burial will follow in Corydon Cemetery in Corydon, KY.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, January 26 and on Saturday, January 27 from 11 a.m. until service time.
