Gayla (Maraman) McGraw, of Slaughters, KY passed away on Tuesday February 3, 2026 at her home under the care of Hospice surrounded by her family.
She was born in Hopkins County, KY on December 21, 1943 to the late James Allen and Eva Elizabeth (Hartford) Maraman.
She was retired from Whirlpool and had formerly worked at York in Madisonville where she was known as the forklift champion. Gayla loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, traveling, gardening and bingo. She was also very independent, and enjoyed doing puzzles while watching birds.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Norman and James “Jimmy” Maraman, and previous husband William Vollie McGraw, Jr.
Gayla is survived by one daughter; Marlania Nance of Slaughters, KY, 2 granddaughters; Brittany (Marc) Morse and Mariah (Ray) Collins, 3 great grandchildren; Alania Morse, Hoyt Morse and Harris Morse and a sister; Sherry (Kenneth) Wells of Slaughters, Ky. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be held 12:00 Friday February 6, 2026 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel.
Pastor Robert Clemmons will officiate.
Burial will be in Zion Brick Church Cemetery in Slaughters.
Visitation will be from 10:00 until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Marc Morse, Ray Collins, Ronnie Hartford, Dustin Hartford, Ben Nance and Perry Bowley.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
