Gene Denton

Gene Denton, born on March 10, 1940, in Dixon, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, at Redbanks Colonial Terrace in Sebree, Kentucky.

Gene worked in construction as co-owner of Denton Brothers Construction and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Throughout his life, Gene embraced the values instilled by his parents, Verlie Denton and Susie Sutton Denton, who have preceded him in death. Gene was also predeceased by his siblings, Edgar Denton, Jimmy Denton, Sue, Beatrice, and Minnie, each of whom held special places in his heart.

Gene's memory will be cherished and honored by his loving son, Tommy Denton (Helen); his devoted daughters, Janet McClure, Lisa Underwood, and Donna Glore (Ron); and his brother, Walter Denton, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Gene Denton will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel, The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Bro. Johnny McCurry officiating. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Denton, Timmy Denton, Jerry Johnson, Jesse Hibbs, Crystal Underwood, Aaron Hibbs and Zane Johnson.
