George Devylder, Jr. 85 of Henderson passed away April 20, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born February 6, 1933 in Anton, KY to George C. and Bertha Ann (Hawkins) Devylder. George was an U. S. Navy Veteran and Army Reserve. He had retired from Peoples Bank in Madisonville, a member of Greenleaf Baptist Church in California and was a Southern Baptist ordained minister. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife; Dorothy (Orrick) Devylder, 2nd wife; Nora Edith Devylder, Daughter; Shirley Ann Forrest, 2 brothers; Charles and Sever Devylder, 2 sisters; Dorothy Duncan and Bobby Jean Brown. George is survived by 3 children; Sharon Louise Taylor of Henderson, Cheryl Devylder of WI, Robert Eugene Devylder of Henderson, 2 sisters; Juanita Langston of Dixon and Elois Moore of Dawson Springs, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Sebree. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Major Loren Carter will officiate. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until service time, April 22 at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Worsham Post #40 Burial Detail and Honor Guard. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice. Pallbearers will be Robert Devylder, Jeremy Benson, Jared Drennan and Bruce Benson.
