George Joseph Downs

George Joseph “Joey” Downs, 53 of Sebree, KY entered into eternal life on August 20, 2013 at his home. Joey resided the majority of his years in the Tri-State. He was a mechanic and loved riding his Harley-Davidson he also loved to ride in poker runs. He was an exceptional father, loving son, caring brother and good-hearted friend. “Love to Ride, Ride to Live” was his motto. Joey was born December 15, 1959 in Madisonville, KY to Charles and Anna (Scott) Downs. He was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Bloyd. He is survived by his wife Debra Jo (Fisher) Downs of Livermoe, KY, his father and stepmother: Charles and Eva Downs of Slaughters, KY, his mother and stepfather: Anna and Bob Bloyd of Henderson, 4 daughters: Alicia Higginson of Evansville, IN, Amy Jo Downs of Evansville, IN, Katie Downs of Livermore, KY, and Ella Downs of Henderson, KY 1 son: George Joseph Downs II of Livermore, KY, 2 sisters: Charlotte and husband Larry Brown of Henderson, Elizabeth and husband David Hardin of Slaughters, KY, 3 brothers: Rick and wife Sylvia Downs of Henderson, KY, Charlie Downs of Slaughters, KY and Christopher Downs of Slaughters, KY, 8 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services will be 12:00 PM Friday August 23, 2013 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday August 22 and 9 AM-12 PM Friday at the funeral home.
