Geraldine Brown

Geraldine (Oakley) Brown, 85 of Slaughters, KY passed away at her home Sunday, June 19, 2016. She was born in Webster County, KY on March 21, 1931 to the late Oscar Bennett and Emma Era (Jones) Oakley. She was retired as Postmaster after 20 + years of Slaughters Post Office, member of Slaughters Methodist Church and loved to work in her yard and was a great cook and loved her grandchildren. Preceded by Parents, husband Rudy Brown and grandson Jarred Ashmore, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Survivors include 2 daughters; Lydia Melton and husband Joe of Slaughters, KY Janet Shoulders and husband Bobby of Slaughters, KY 1 brother; Kenneth Oakley, Benton IL 1 sister; Allie Ray Tanzler, Winter Springs, FL 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great grandchildren. Nieces and Nephews Service Thursday, June 23 at 10:00 AM at Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel officiated by Pastor Wayne Nichols and Pastor Jim Keegan. Burial will be in Slaughters Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Thursday from 8:00 AM until service. Pallbearers will be Bo Hackney, Terry Melton, Tim Melton, Brad Keith, Harry Brown, and Bill Estep. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jarred Ashmore (IN Memory), Ashley Hackney and Jason Overby.
